Axiom Sustainable

With ten years of experience in design and construction, Michael has performed various roles, including architect, owner, contractor and consultant. As Founder of Axiom Sustainable Consulting, LLC, he is a LEED Accredited Professional, Green Advantage Faculty and the 2008 Chair of the USGBC South Central Regional Council. He was the Project Manager for Hensley Field Operation Center, the first LEED certified facility in Dallas. This facility achieved Gold certification at no additional cost. During that time, His most recent LEED job was Francisco Medrano Middle School, the first school in Texas to achieve LEED certification under LEED for Schools (and the eight in the nation). Michael was one of a dozen individuals who founded the North Texas Chapter of the USGBC and served as 2007 Chair for the Chapter. With a focus on educating the community, Michael has presented LEED to thousands of individuals over the last six years, including developers, contractors, product manufacturers, retailers, property and facility managers, educators, interior designers, architects and engineers.

Program: LEED 2009 Overview

Significant changes have been made to the LEED 2009 system. Join us for this one hour session that highlights the new LEED products that will soon be available, the major revisions /differences to LEED 2009 compared to LEED v2.2, and also the new LEED AP structure. If you are currently a LEED AP, these changes will affect you!
Learning Objectives

  1. Gain an understanding of the different LEED products available, and identify the appropriate product to utilize for different buildings.
  2. Gain an understanding of highlighted significant changes to the LEED v2009 rating systems.
  3. Gain an understanding of the new levels of LEED professional accreditation available.
  4. Gain an understanding of the modifications to the LEED AP personal accreditation.
