ASHRAE Research impacts the HVAC&R industry by advancing the way systems work, the way in which they are applied, and by developing technical information for the creation of standards and guidelines which serve as the basis for testing and design practices around the world.
The Society has funded thousands of projects addressing such topics as sound, duct design, the effect of oil in refrigerants, load calculations, thermal conductivity, simplified energy analysis procedures, weather data, refrigerant property data, fire and smoke control and solar design. The most significant ASHRAE research has been in the areas of human comfort and the properties of materials and systems used in buildings and refrigeration systems.
FTW First Chapter in the WORLD to Reach “Full Circle”
Fort Worth qualified as the first Chapter in Society to meet the requirements for the Full Circle Award by submitting its forms electronically at 12:00am local time on July 1.
This award honors those Chapters whose officers demonstrate their leadership and commitment to ASHRAE through their personal honor roll level investments in ASHRAE Research. These personal financial investments in the cause for which they are also providing their time and talents demonstrates a “full-circle” of commitment.
